Meghan & Brett: Charlotte NC Wedding Raising Awareness for Dog Adoption!
Where do we start?? So Meghan and I (Brittany) actually grew up down the street from each other and were childhood friends. We played together after school all the time, galavanting through our neighborhood, climbing trees, helping each other do chores, etc. As we grew up and became teenagers, we naturally lost touch. Fast forward nearly 20 years, and when I saw her name in the inquiry, I knew exactly who she was and all those memories came flooding back! I called my mom to verify her last name – in hopes of not sounds completely off-base over the phone, and she confirmed. We immediately reconnected and knew it was meant to be! Turns out, my mother-in-law, as well as a former bride, both worked with Meghan at the time!
I love when our wedding couples do their best to think outside of the box and try to make their wedding day more specific to the type of people they are. Meghan and Brett have a huge heart for pet adoption! They have adopted 2 dogs as well as 2 cats, and wanted to find a way to raise awareness for our local Greater Charlotte SPCA. This past fall there were images going around of bridesmaids holding puppies, and Meghan immediately knew she wanted to do the same! The wedding day was so tight, I personally wasn’t going to get my hopes up until it actually happened, but turns out – those puppies were waiting for us when we got to Symphony Park for the photos! We only had a few minutes, but those few minutes with the puppies changed the whole course of the day. Everyone lit up, like most do when they see a puppy! There should be such a thing as puppy therapy because it really makes people’s souls light up! We are so grateful to the team over at GCSPCA for helping make this happen! Great news: All of the puppies in the photos have been adopted! There’s one young dog in the left of the photos that is currently being fostered and still needs a home so if you know anyone interested, please contact me and I’ll get you in touch with the right people!
Meghan and Brett are so adorable together! They met on eHarmony (we love this!) and instantly bonded over their love of sports. Meghan is a huge Nascar fan, so when it came time for Brett to propose, he got down on one knee at the Charlotte Motor Speedway after Meghan participated in the Nascar Driving Experience! When Meghan looks into Brett’s eyes, you can tell she knows she found the one who will care for her for the rest of their lives. You can just see the love they have for each other! We were so thrilled to be a part of capturing their wedding day. We do our best to remind ourselves that it’s a big deal to be invited into one of the most intimate days of someone’s life, and that even though we shoot weddings all the time, each one is unique and special because it is THEIR day. We’re so honored to do what we love and work with amazing people on the happiest day of their lives!
